The major ending that occurred in my novel was the main character Sadie rejecting Garretts love for her. Through out the ending of the book when Garrett is back from camp hes been really trying to get alone time with her but Sadie has been busy with work and friends, he even helped out at the cafe when it was really busy just to be with Sadie. All of Sadies friends were iffy about Garrett being back and that Sadie would just fall right back into his arms ,even josh was getting protective of his territory when Garrett was in the cafe.Towards the end Garrett insisted that Sadie goes out with him, he took her to a dark, dingy basement-cafe-slash-bar they were having poetry night , his friends showed up Garrett went to go say hi and took a seat with them .Sadie was the one that had to go over there and introduce herself. Sadie felt like the whole time he was talking about her ,he never once really looked at her .she found herself wondering how many times she sat waiting for him while he catches up with somebody more important.Sadie had told Garrett that she was going to go ,while she was leaving Garrett catch up to her and apologizes for not being with her the night and that he would make it up to her.Garrett wanted to say something and Sadie asked if it could wait ,suddenly he grab her face and kisses her.Garrett confesses his love to her and Sadie told him off that he doesn't really love her that he just likes the way she made him feel ,like he was the center of her world.Sadie told him that she inst that girl anymore and she couldn't be with him anymore and he would have to except it.

have you ever had to reject a guy/girl that you liked but knew you couldn't be with him/her ?

The weakness in my character Sadie is her friendship with garrett , she feels like a pathetic girl ,repeating everything a boy tells her. The books she reads, the movies she watch, even the music in her ipod was garretts playlist . She even wore her hear in sertin way, she wanted to look like the exotic french movie stars he always seem to rave about. Sadie just whore her jeans, shirts and sweaters because Garrett always mock the girls who dress retro or outlandishly.Sadie stop reading her moms bodice-ripper romance novels because garrett saw stack of them in her living room and laughed about the trash that passes as literature these days. Sadie's entire life is based on a guy ,she needs to find out who she is without him.

Have you ever been obsesses with a guy/girl , that started changing who you are ?

Would you ever base your whole life on guy/girl you like ?

The main character in my book "getting over garrettt delany " is Sadie. Sadie has been in love with her best friend Garrett for two years, which is why she's so excited to be spending six whole weeks at a camp for aspiring writers with Garrett. He's just broken up with his latest girlfriend, so this is finally Sadie's chance to turn their friendship into more.Sadie does not get accepted into the camp and Garrett is going by himself. They have never been separated from each other for the past two years.Garrett had told Sadie that he would be in contact with her through emails, calls and messaging .Sadie has to get a job because her mother has told her "you get a job or you work for me". She does find a job at the local coffee shop where her and Garrett first met. Sadie starts becoming friends with her co-workers. In the middle of all this she tries to stay in contact with Garrett by text messages and daily phone calls.after his call to reveal his love for yet another girl, Sadie is determined to get over this boy. She must. She has to find herself.

Have you ever been in-love with your best-friend ? what are someways you would do to get over someone you like that doesn't like you back in the way ?

getting over garrett delaney By: ABBY McDONALD

Seventeen-year-old Sadie is in love: epic, heartfelt, and utterly one-sided. The object of her obsession — ahem, affection — is her best friend, Garrett Delaney, who has been oblivious to Sadie’s feelings ever since he sauntered into her life and wowed her with his passion for Proust (not to mention his deep-blue eyes). For two long, painful years, Sadie has been Garrett’s constant companion, sharing his taste in everything from tragic Russian literature to art films to ''80s indie rock — all to no avail. But when Garrett leaves for a summer literary retreat, Sadie is sure that the absence will make his heart grow fonder — until he calls to say he’s fallen in love. With some other girl! A heartbroken Sadie realizes that she’s finally had enough. It’s time for a total Garrett detox! Aided by a barista job, an eclectic crew of new friends (including the hunky chef, Josh), and a customized self-help guide, Sadie embarks on a summer of personal reinvention full of laughter, mortifying meltdowns, and a double shot of love.
